Every year, when blossoms turn into plump juicy fruits, we begin to fill our jars with colourful compotes and intense preserves. Some to sweeten our winter days, some for friends and family, and some as an excuse to build conversations with our neighbours.
When Polly at the Urban Larder asked me to create a few preserves for her shop, it seemed like the perfect thing to do. So I illustrated the labels and had fun Creating new flavours as well as dressing some old family favorites. It's been rather sticky not to say the least but a fun process.
And so, here it is, a few of my favorite flavours. Each jar is filled with heaps of fruit and lots of love. The Orange Preserve is my father's recipe, and could not bring myself to leave it out. The Tomato & Port, an adaptation from my husband's family recipe book. I hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
