A little while back (which now feels like way too long to bare) I found the way to my heart. It happened quite by chance, and knocked me off my feet. But, don't all great things happen just this way?
It was one of those perfect days you read about. You know the ones? When the light is just that perfect kind of light, and the mood is just so bright. A day like that, makes you want to stray away from home, through streets you'd perhaps forgotten to remind yourself about.
My little love affair started at the beginning of Columbia Road. Which on a Sunday mornings, unravels into this spectacular scene of bountiful stalls filled to the brim with a mixture of delicate scented flowers, freshly brewed Sunday kinda coffee and the delightful sounds of a French accordeon wisping through the air.
Well, I'll get to the point! I found a shop, an absolute gem. "A Portuguese Love Affair", which is perfect in every sense. From trinkets, to beautiful pottery, perfectly packaged soaps and beautiful Portuguese sardines, both vintage and the modern kind by Jose Gourmet. And those beautifully handmade toys... I came home with a bag filled with treasures that I've yet to unwrap. Perhaps I'll keep them that way just a little longer.
